oops - the last one was not meant to go to the list ;)
here are some more points, maybe not well enough formulated at the meeting
maybe people on the list like to add more ?

> 4. set up interfund with the $1000 left over from the ars electronica
> prix: which could either be a lobbying group or a funding project.

4.1. formulate needs for the goals of such an interfund and publish
those needs. keep the process as open and undefined as possible.
collaborate with instituions but do not become an institution.
(hope this formulated properly)

> 5. global pirate radio network project. to set up many mini-fm
> transmittors around the world which broadcast net.radio over fm. this may
> include a group scheduler which would allow people to broadcast the same
> content automatically, and could be switched off to allow local content to
> be broadcast when needed.
5.1. globally: a great idea.
locally: sometimes quite unrealistic - like in berlin for more then 500 m radius. the
fact that there are no pirates in berlin doesn't mean that there was noone trying
it. on the other hand there are open frequencies (time slots) of so called
"free radios" or "open channnels" in various german cities.

> 7. ars electronica cd, to be produced by ars and xchange. at this time, we
> all need to listen to the archives and choose what bits we like: also
> decide whether it should be a cd-rom or audio cd. audio cd will have a
> much faster turnaround time, but artist's biographies/links to the web would
> then have to be on paper.
archive xchange standards reasearch included, many interesting material
is not archived on the net, and if, often very difficult to select and
navigate through. context and meta data is often missing. search engines
are missing. double cd or mixed cd? special edition of CD-Rs (on demand).

> 8. research possible licences for terrestrial radio.
yes - DAB (!) as well as temporary time slots, especially on AM and LW

> 9. research streaming mpeg.
and research MP3 - what is already existing, an
exloiding copy culture, archives, playlists, temporary wandering MP3
servers, beautiful players, halfautomated IRC distribution, small record
labels joining in, CD-R burning all over: a whole pop subculture comparable
to audio-tapes. artists shouldn't close their eyes in front of such phenomenon.

9.1 research alternatives to the 'radio' metaphor (old topic).
the 'live' aspect is surely "radio". but what about the archives? what
about other derrivatives which are not 'music' anymore, but rather an
experiment with complexity, network topologies, social and machinic
communication, intermedia connections, signal processors, acoustic space?

9.2 research the listener

9.3. research visuals

> _______future events on the calendar:
