thanks to pit for raising this one....

luka was going to write something to the list about this i think.....hello
luka!!

>> 5. global pirate radio network project. to set up many mini-fm
i think honor meant this as a "as needed" project , where people feel that
it is needed,
and along the path of least resistance.

in response to pit, segio and others, i think that for example, pirate
radio in sydney is difficult for geographical reasons: because the land is
so hilly so the fm transmittor has to be on a high point: and this has been
the problem with a number of pirate radio stations everywhere.

on the other hand, the communinity radio stations in sydney have quite a
rigorous belief about what they should be broadcasting: the radio station
where i broadcast for example, is a jazz station. for some reason they let
me come and play weird stuff under the title "world music" for three hours
a week.

i agree that the strategy of the cd is about representing the people that
participated
locally and remotely, and also about showing the loose relationship that
they have to eachother. this information is not generally found anywhere:
except in a conference environment!!

what i was trying to say is that i have just under two weeks to file a
proposal/budget, and after that the money will be allocated if it exists at
all. is it true that we want to get the cd out as soon as possible to
catch the wave of ars electronica as it falls into the distance?
if this is so then....
once the musical content has been decided then it takes only a couple of
weeks maximum for me to mix the sound, and a little time for martins to do
the design in Xchange style. I don't feel like I have the time to master a
cd-rom because the interface and testing takes so long. if someone wants to
do the interface then i will still do the audio part, but has anyone got
the time to do that? i know from speaking to them, that r & r & jaanis do
not have time.

pit again, my typing mistake: i should have written "streaming mp3" not
"mpeg" but i was a bit tired.
oops.

anyway, i am going to listen to this train business and examine the list
for people who still want t-shirts. with my next big pay cheque i will
print some properly because i gave an old friend a hug in the rain and
discovered they had "mar erom deen i" printed lightly on their chest.

z.
