R O A R Previewed this Monday (4/5/98) at Open Channel, Melbourne
Australia.
R O A R Streams a range of cross media dataflow over the internet.
The first streaming web-cast was exhibited as part of the Australia
Council?s New Media Arts Fund launch, formally opened by the Federal
Minister for Communications, the Information Economy and the Arts,
Senator Richard Alston. The launch showcased the work of some of
Australia?s most innovative new media artists and companies with a wide
selection of on-screen arts projects on-line or on CD-ROM.

R O A R displays unlimited channels for the online web-cast of new
media artwork. Any combination of text, image and sound can be streamed.
The computer is the remote - gearing up for Net TV.

* Please submit a brief abstract (100 words max) to
D.Castaldi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
* Consider the submission of work that falls within a time duration of 1
to 10 minutes (maximum).
* It must display a specific file type of cross media.
* Temporal image and sound files should be submitted in the compressed
Quicktime file type. The new Quicktime 3 can be found from the plugins
link on the r o a r website.
* Image and /or quicktimes should be no larger than 370 (W) by 190 (H)
pixels for easy viewing within the browser.
* Still image should be submitted as .jpg or .gif file type.
* Text as Simpletext.
* Concept is open and any combination of sound, image and text is
acceptable.
Please note:
* Submissions ready for web-cast will be loaded into a channel. All
streams will be maintained for a maximum of two weeks. Artists will
receive email notification prior to streaming.
* With the artists consent work will be archived after channel
distribution. Otherwise work will be destroyed.
* Artists retain all copyright to their work.
* In the event that r o a r is contacted for any reason about any work
the artist will immediately be notified.
* It is the intention of r o a r to exhibit media for the purposes of
experimentation, research and development. This is not an online
artmarket.
* There is no time limit to handing in submissions. r o a r is an
ongoing site and hopes to web-cast into the next millenium.
* Data may be submitted through file transfer or by post. Details will
be forwarded to interested parties.
