*************************************CALL FOR CONTENT for x-open channel

dear rachel and everybody at xchange,

recently there has been several real audio broadcasting experiments -
streaming via encoders to the remote servers, picking up the stream and
re-broadcasting it purely or re-mixed, looping the streams (an absolute
loop we at ozone-riga once did with backspace-london)
an idea about the x-open channel appeared when we discussed with borut
about the necessity sometimes to multiply the streams, sometimes to provide
with real audio server other broadcasters who don't have their own ra server

(about multiply and remote broadcastings see&read borut's page
http://www.radiostudent.si/mzx/actual.html )

to develop x-open broadcasting channel there are some problems (also
referring to the financial side - like we have to pay for incoming
megabytes), some of them we are trying to solute, we have 2 ra servers and
an other one with free access for special broadcasting events

so, fianlly technically it is possible, and x-open channel is available in
tusday nights 1/2 till 1 hour

BUT (i wrote to rechel):
>>also there is only this technical possibility to broadcast from the places,
>>but may be we should think of what is the reason or, i mean, may be we can
>>develop some better idea how and what to broadcast via this 'open channel'
> this is where programming preparation comes in
>i like the idea of constructing programmes that
>respond to events/discussions on mailing lists like
amex/7-11/nettime/syndicate/xchange
>i think the tuesday broadcasts could be very closely linked to the lists
>THIS IS KEY for drawing audiences to listen to spontaneous live broadcasts
>the content is readymade

would be great, if we could collect ideas and proposals now, what to
broadcast there, how to develop it, how to use experienced broadcasting
possibilites, especially this fascinating moment - the feedback mechanism :)

rachel's proposal about responding to the co-mailinglists is excellent!

...also there was an idea on the beginning, to edit monthly (?) review and
summary of the xchange list - X-Posting for publishing it in other
mailinglists. May be somebody would like to do it ;) ^Å please?

let's collect proposals for tuesday nights x-open broadcastings - and you
all are welcome to participate!

X-OPEN CHANNEL every tuesady 23:00-23:30 (riga time=gmt+2h) at
