X-Changers,

A lot of great ideas and resources came up at the IRC session last friday for the Acoustic.Space.Lab symposium coming up in August, along with some interesting links. All of this info will go up on the site!

++Some suggestions that were made during the chat included:

++Monitering the 'weather' in space.
++Using the control motors to make the 32m dish antenna 'dance'.
++Filtering the reception frequencies to use as voltage controls for a modular synthsizer, or using them as MIDI triggers.
++Short Wave broadcasting for global reception (!)
++Sympoisum discussions on HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program), Tesla and mind control.
++....playing marbles in the dish........

++Suggestions from the list about the possibilities of 'remote participation' are still welcome. The last day of the symposium will be an open-streaming session from Riga. Sadly, internet access at the site of the radio telescope is very limited to a slow dial-up (unless we figure out how to do a satellite hook-up via the dish itself), so most remote participants will have to wait until the 12th to contribute.

++Articles on any of the following areas are being solicited for the reader/symposium discussion: Tesla for the 21st Century, HAARP, mind control, net.streaming theory, satellite communications for the masses, communications technology as new-media, [continuing to use] radio in the digital age, free access to radio bandwidth for data distribution, etc.

Below are some links culled up from the chat and from Rasa, Raitis + myself.

Best,
Derek
