i would be interested as well...the only thing i can think of is the highly buggy 'earshot' program on www.deepdisc.com. those few people (the stuff of legends, really) that have managed to get the thing running can use it like an audio browser on the web, downloading mp3's and wav's (anything except Real) and plotting them out on a piano roll to use as samples. the deepdisc gang does live performances from time to time with it.

random sampling would be even better.
