The Wire and The Lux Centre are delighted to present COSMIC COURIERS: Sun
Worship, Space Travel and Afro-Futurism in the I N T E R F E R E N C E
series of sound presentations, performances and talks.
Author and journalist Ken Hollings (The Wire, Sight & Sound, Bizarre) will
explore the solar mythology and magical music of American legend Sun Ra and
electronic composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. PLUS we are pleased to announce
rare screenings of 'Space Is The Place' (John Coney, 1973) and 'In The
Shadow Of The Sun' (Derek Jarman, soundtrack by Throbbing Gristle, 1980).
COSMIC COURIERS will be presented in The Lux Centre cinema on Thursday 31
August 2000, 8pm. Tickets cost: full 6 pounds / concessions 4 pounds (Lux
members 5 pounds / Lux concessions 3 pounds). You can book by phoning The
