Here are just a few pointers to what's going on in the world in the
next few months. For more event listings, and details and links for

* Journees d'Informatique Musicale 2000 Bordeaux, France May 15 - 18,
2000, an annual meeting of researchers in computer music and
musicians who use the computer as a means of expression or as a tool
for composition.
* Digital Distribution and the Music Industry, Europe 2000, is
happening in London May 22 - 23, with over 70 world class speakers
and a cutting edge program. This conference will be repeated in Hong
Kong and the US.
* June in Buffalo (New York State). Celebrating its 25th Anniversary,
June in Buffalo will offer a star-studded series of concerts
featuring many prominent composers, among them Lukas Foss, Bernard
Rands, Roger Reynolds, Nils Vigeland, Steve Reich, Joji Yuasa ...
* The Biennale of Sydney, Australia, happens May 26 - July 30.
* George Antheil's 'Ballet Mécanique', first performed in Paris in
1926 with 16 player pianos, 7 percussionists, 2 pianists, 7 electric
bells, 3 airplane propellors, and a siren, will be performed again by
the San Francisco Symphony on June 11.
* Synthèse 2000: 30th Festival International des Musiques
Electroniques de Bourges will happen June 9 to June 18 in Bourges,
France.
* The Holland Festival, in Amsterdam in June, is presenting
'Electronic Soundwaves', a series of electronic music events.
* The theme of the Second International Sound Art Festival, which
will happen June 30 - July 9 in Mexico City, is "Humor y Aliento".
* GRM's Concerts Multiphonies wind down the season on Monday, June 19
at 6:30 and 8:30pm, with music by Jean Favory, Aldo Brizzi, Elainie
Lillois, Nicolas Verin ...
* The ICMC 2000, August 27 - September 1, in Berlin, will feature 20
concerts, numerous sound installations, over 100 research papers,
many panel discussions, and demonstrations. The Keynote Speaker will
be Joel Chadabe.
* SIGGRAPH 2000, a conference and showcase for the latest
developments in computer graphics and interactive techniques, will
happen July 23 - 28 in New Orleans.
* Consciousness Reframed 2000, a forum and conference for
developments in the field of art, technology and consciousness, will
take place at University of Wales College, Newport, UK, August 23 -
26.
* Gaudeamus Music Week 2000 will happen in Rotterdam, The
Netherlands, August 31 - September 10, with new music by young
composers from all over the world. This year it will include The
Night of the Unexpected, a surprise show of live electronics,
improvisation, rock, installations, soundart and interactive
electronics ...
