slackerbonding.com is looking for witty and thought-provoking articles,
stories, poetry and art from witty and though-provoking writers and
artists. Before you check out what we're after, understand that we can't
offer payment yet, but you get a little fame and fodder for your
portfolio and the potential for paying work later on.
Along with our usual pop culture scene articles and current music, film,
and book reviews, we're exploring a hot theme for our next edition --
Generation X couples as parents. Possibilities: How does having kids
change slackers in love? Tackle the eternal question -- to reproduce or
not to reproduce? Are you in a relationship where one half wants
children and the other is afraid, very afraid?
What sucks about meeting new partners while you're a single parent? What
are the joys and hurdles of same sex couples who decide to have
children? How exactly is Generation X bringing up thier babies -- or
what's your parenting style as a couple? Our baby boomer parents created
us -- what kind of generation will we create? (Shudder)
Our next deadline is November 17, so don't delay -- send us your short
fiction, first-hand creative non-fiction, and thoughts. Our main theme
of slacker love and modern relationships remains, but we're simply
branching out to include parenting in the picture.
We're also including video (um, no, not your birthing videos),
illustrations, and photography related to the theme of slacker
parenting. Go to www.slackerbonding.com to check out the site's style
and current content and to the "You Must Submit" section to check out
our detailed submission guidelines.
