During the day a mix of sound by the artists working in Bregenz and
from the remote locations ... during the night the sound is provided by
"SOUND POOL", an installation by Winfried Ritsch.


IMMERSIVE SOUND is a further step in the development of an
interdisciplinary and
networked working environment. In previous KUNSTRADIO projects
(Horizontal Radio, Rivers&Bridges, Recycling the Future) the connection
of radio stations around the world - "improvised radio" - formed the
basic framework.

IMMERSIVE SOUND pursues a more sculptural/installational approach. The
artists/participants/users, working in the space of a rehearsal
stage/experimental theater in Bregenz, are working with visual and
acoustic space and time. The broadcast element operates as a window into
the work through a variety of networking techniques - WWW audio and
video, CB radio, broadcast radio, etc.

IMMERSIVE SOUND is a collective project - the result of several months
of discussion among many artists from different disciplines working
together with KUNSTRADIO in Austria and abroad. The artists involved in
these discussions included:

        In Adelaide: Adam Hyde and honor harger.
